So what are High Season Dates? High Season is essentially those
periods when demand for flights, hotels, car rental, or any other leisure activity is likey to exceed supply. This allows
service providers to increase their prices in high season, safe in the knowledge that they can still 'sell out'
during the high season period.
Why does this matter? Its going to be more expensive to do anything that is
holiday related in high season, rather than low season.
When is High Season? Not surprisingly,
High Season normally coincides with School Holidays, as this is the time when most people want to travel, book accomodation,
visit tourist attractions or generally seek out entertainment. You can look up high season dates by
referring to our Home Year Planner.
What is the difference between High Season and Peak Season? There is no difference
between High Season and Peak Season
Are High Season dates the same everywhere? No. It depends
on which country you are travelling to as well as where you are travelling from. Our High Season dates shown in our
Year Planner refer prodominantly to the UK, but other factors apply. If you want to go skiing, even if you travel outside
schol holidays, high season prices will apply because the best chance of good weather (Sun and Snow) is at certain times of
the year. Also there are local events at play here. If you want to visit Paris in August, you will find
it cheaper because most French people are on holiday. However French campsites will be at their most expensive!
