Some of our annual rituals
and festivals are based on a specific date in the calendar. Christmas for example always falls on December 25th.
However some events are based on the Lunar Cycle. eg: The date for Easter Sunday is set as the first Sunday after the first
full moon that falls after the Spring or Vernal Equinox (March 21st). Its a good example of how a 'pagan' event (the
Celts called the Vernal Equinox 'Eoster') was 'hijacked' by the Christian church !
